Veneers are a highly versatile and customizable cosmetic treatment that can address a wide range of aesthetic concerns, such as:
- Gaps
- Chips
- Cracks
- Misalignment
- Uneven teeth
- Irregularly shaped teeth
- Worn teeth
- Discoloration
Benefits of Porcelain Veneers
Addresses Multiple Issues
In a single treatment, veneers can combine the effects of teeth whitening, orthodontics, and dental bonding.
Stain-Resistant Restoration
Veneers are more stain-resistant than natural teeth, allowing you to maintain the results of this cosmetic dentistry treatment for years with proper care.
Improved Appearance & Confidence
Porcelain veneers can improve your appearance, helping to increase your self-confidence and willingness to smile.

View on GoogleHow Much Do Porcelain Veneers Cost?
Veneer treatment is customized to your unique needs, so treatment costs will vary. For example, a person who only needs to enhance one tooth will have lower costs than someone who wants to have veneers placed on multiple teeth. After your initial consultation, your dentist will develop a custom treatment plan and provide an estimate.
Because veneers are considered cosmetic, most dental insurance plans do not cover the cost of veneers. Our Cedar City dental office accepts CareCredit® to help patients finance their treatment and place their goals within reach.

How Are Veneers Placed?
How Long Do Veneers Last?
Brushing
Brush your teeth and veneers with a gentle, non-abrasive toothpaste using a soft-bristled toothbrush. Gel toothpastes are typically ideal, while whitening toothpastes tend to be harsher. It is also important to use a light touch when brushing the teeth. This will prevent premature damage to your veneers.
Flossing
Patients should floss at least once a day to keep the underlying teeth healthy and prevent cavities and gum disease. If oral health problems affect a tooth with veneers, the veneer will need to be removed to address the problem.
Avoid Bad Habits
Using your teeth as tools, biting your fingernails, and chronic teeth grinding can gradually damage your veneers or cause them to become dislodged. Take care of your veneers and teeth to make them last as long as possible.
Lumineers
Patients who do not qualify for traditional veneers may be able to transform their smile with Lumineers, which are minimal-prep veneers. In many cases, Lumineers can be placed on the teeth without removing any tooth enamel; in other cases, we may remove a very small amount.
This treatment option is best for patients with very minor cosmetic flaws in order to ensure Lumineers don't look bulky or fake. If Dr. Tavoian finds that traditional veneers will look more like natural teeth and produce a better aesthetic result, he will recommend this option. Overall, we can help you determine the optimal cosmetic dentistry treatment plan to fit your needs, cosmetic goals, and budget when you visit us for a dental consultation at our Cedar City practice.
Frequently Asked Questions About Veneers
Q. Does veneer placement hurt?
A. No. Veneers are a practically painless treatment option because only a small amount of enamel is removed for traditional veneers. However, if you experience any discomfort during treatment, please let your team know immediately. We can use a local anesthetic or offer sedation options to keep you completely comfortable during your procedure.
Q. Is there a limit to how many teeth can receive a veneer?
A. There is not really a limit, but veneers are generally suggested for the front teeth only. For a back tooth, other options like a porcelain dental crown may be more appropriate.
Q. Do I need to avoid certain foods with veneers?
A. You do not need to avoid foods, but it is best to be careful about certain items, such as biting into a whole apple. In that example, you might want to consider cutting it into wedges. Also, do not use your teeth as a tool to bite your nails or open packages, as this can damage even your natural teeth.
