Teeth Whitening
Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening
Fast
Dr. Tavoian uses bleaching agents with higher concentrations than store-bought whitening products, allowing faster, more effective results than over-the-counter options.
Customized
Our custom trays can help you avoid gum sensitivity from the bleaching gel. The trays are a perfect mold for your teeth, which keeps the whitening gel from spilling onto the gums.
Safe
The effects of dentist-supervised whitening treatments are more predictable than over-the-counter products and less likely to cause tooth and gum irritation
Options for Professional Teeth Whitening
In-Office
For patients who want to whiten their teeth quickly, we offer Opalescence® Boost in our office. A typical Opalescence Boost treatment session lasts 45 minutes. Dr. Tavoian will first use a shade guide to determine the current shade of your teeth. Then he will apply the bleaching gel using a soft, brushed tip. The unique chemical formula of Opalescence Boost allows you to achieve dramatic results without using a special laser or light, which helps prevent tooth sensitivity and keeps your gums hydrated.
At-Home
Our practice offers two types of at-home whitening treatments. Depending on your preferences, we can provide a set of pre-molded whitening trays or design a custom set. If you choose custom whitening trays, we will take impressions of your smile during your consultation. Once you have your pre-molded or custom trays and are ready to begin at-home whitening, you will fill the trays with the whitening gel and place them over your teeth for the instructed amount of time.

The great thing about Opalescence is the ability to adjust the concentration level. The concentration of the bleaching agent will affect how long you wear the trays. Your treatment can last as little as 30 minutes per day, or you can choose trays that stay in place overnight. With various options, we can customize your at-home treatment to meet your needs. Surface Discoloration
Teeth whitening addresses discoloration of the tooth enamel, such as staining from foods or tobacco. Dr. Tavoian may recommend porcelain veneers or dental bonding for discoloration that affects the inner layers of the tooth.
Good Dental Health
Patients with gum disease, worn enamel, cavities, or exposed roots should seek treatment for these conditions before undergoing cosmetic dentistry services. Our team can help you restore your oral health first and then work to achieve your cosmetic goals.
Not Pregnant
Patients in overall good health will usually qualify for teeth whitening. However, women who are pregnant should not undergo teeth whitening because they are more likely to have gum inflammation and tooth sensitivity.
