Dental Bridges

Before our dentist can place a bridge, your mouth must be healthy enough to support it. If you have gum disease or tooth decay, we will treat it before we create your bridge. If you have insufficient jawbone density for dental implants, we can perform a bone graft.

If you're receiving an implant-supported bridge, you will first have to undergo dental implant placement surgery. Your implants will be placed in your jaw and must integrate with the jawbone over a period of about three to six months.

If you're receiving a traditional bridge, our dentist will prepare each tooth on either side of the gap in your smile. This will involve removing some enamel to make room for the crowns.

Our dentist will take digital impressions of your dental arch to aid in the fabrication of your custom bridge.

We may place a temporary bridge so you don't have to go another day without restored function.

Depending on your case, we may send your impressions to a dental lab where technicians will create a porcelain bridge that feels comfortable and blends in seamlessly with your smile. It usually takes about two to three weeks for the lab to create a dental bridge. We can also provide same-day bridges using our CEREC technology.

Once your bridge is finished, you can return to our office where Dr. Tavoian will check the final fit of your bridge and secure it in place with dental cement or abutments.
